Ireland to offer gun crime advice
Scotland can learn from Ireland as it considers how best to reform firearms law and tackle gun crime, justice secretary Kenny MacAskill has said.
Scottish Government officials have made contact with their Irish counterparts about their national firearms licensing system, including controls on air weapons.
Mr MacAskill will host a summit on Wednesday to help identify more effective ways of tackling firearms misuse, through legislation and education.
